L’Arche UK is launching an alumni programme for ex-assistants.
Our alumni are a network of people who share the unique experience of having been part of a L’Arche community here in the UK. That ‘community’, which began more than 40 years ago, is now spread all over the world.
The scheme will be a great opportunity for this network to stay connected or re-connect, both to one another and to L’Arche and a chance for us to share news and stories about L’Arche past and present.
As ex-assistant Joanna Wroe says "During my time at L'Arche Edinburgh I met people from all over the world. This was an amazing experience for me, to be introduced to new music, culture and of course food! Inevitably, because of everyone's location, those friendships have grown more distant over time, but I continue to feel a great connection with the people I shared those formative years with. I would love a forum to help stay in touch and to share memories of that hugely important time."
If you are an ex-assistant from a L’Arche community and want to find out more, click here to sign up to the scheme.
Members will be able to join a closed Facebook group, which can be used to share stories and connect with the rest of our alumni network. We will also be releasing a regular email update. We would really welcome contributions to this from ex-assistants. If you have any stories about your experiences at L’Arche or photos you would like to share on the alumni facebook page, email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
